About
Yasemin B. Duru (they/them) is a multicultural, interdisciplinary visual artist currently based in Vienna. With personal ties to Turkey, Germany, and Australia, Yasemin maintains an international practice, frequently collaborating with artists around the world.

They hold a BA in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design from Sabancı University in Istanbul and are currently pursuing a degree in Digital Arts at die Angewandte in Vienna. Yasemin has also enriched their artistic education through courses at The Animation Workshop in Viborg and the Academy of Visionary Art in Vienna.

Yasemin's creative skills span painting, photography, poetry, sculpture, intuitive tarot readings, performative channelings and immersive installations, often incorporating mirrors, light, and sound. A synaesthete and avid meditator, Yasemin is drawn to explore themes of perception, alternate states, and nature.

In addition to freelance work as an artist and light designer, Yasemin serves as the Audio Visual Director of the Physical Theater Company Side Effect, overseeing stage design, lighting, objects, and sound. They are also part of other teams, and collaborate with various collectives and artists focused on environmentalism, LGBTQIA+ rights, spirituality, education and empowerment.​​
